Phrase
Twelve words, generated on the device. That is the identity and the wallet. Settings, Recovery phrase shows them after Face ID or the passcode. SILNT never receives a copy.
How to
SILNT backup and restore.
Without the phrase, nobody can restore you. Not SILNT. Not a seized phone. Write the words down. Never type them into a chat.
Sealed backup
Encrypted SILNT backup to your private iCloud is on by default, sealed under the phrase before it leaves the app. Switch it off in Settings. Export a file from there too. The live database is excluded from iPhone and iCloud device backups.
Restore
Phrase on a new phone brings identity and funds. Contacts and history need the backup. Some threads will ask to be added again. Spark bitcoin also needs reachable Spark operators, plus any local exit data this phone still holds.
Lost phone
Lock and erase destroy what was on the device. A backup already in iCloud stays there, unreadable without the phrase, until you delete it. Anyone with the unlocked phone, or with the phrase, can use the identity. Anyone with only the hardware cannot.
